Fish Dip

Fish Dip

When we started catching fish, I wanted to find a way to use them without necessarily making a full meal. Fish dip popped up in a google search for appetizer + fish and I knew this was it! It is full of fish, unlike a lot of store bought versions, and so easy to make. One cup of dip is good for a small group or if there will be a lot of food but feel free to double it if it will be the main appetizer. While I use red fish, any white flakey fish without a strong fish flavor will work.

Fish Dip

Makes 1 cup of dip

  • 1/4 lb red fish (~ 1/2 cup)

  • 1/4 tsp California pepper (or black pepper)

  • 1/2 fresh lime

  • 1 tsp smoked jalapeno sriracha (or 1/2 tsp sriracha + 1/2 minced jalapeno)

  • 3/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 oz cream cheese

  • 1/4 cup minced bell pepper

  • 1 tsp minced garlic

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  1. Pat fish dry and season both sides with pepper and lime juice

  2. Add fish to preheated pan over medium heat

  3. Cook until fish is almost done, flip and finish cooking (~6-8 minutes total)

  4. Break up fish into small chucks and set aside

  5. Mix remaining ingredients

  6. Fold in fish and chill until serving

  7. Serve with crackers for dipping
